Prof Simeon D Stoyanov

Biography :

Prof. Dr Stoyanov joined SIT in June 2022. He has over 20 years of industrial R&D experience in Unilever and Henkel, managing R&D teams and has in-depth understanding of product formulation and knowledge of raw material functionality, product formulation & processing in the foods and home and personal care areas. He worked 17 years at Unilever R&D in the Netherlands, having various roles such as interim Director Advanced Materials, Unilever Global Strategic Partnerships leader, Senior Scientists, technical NPD project leader and R&D team leader. Prof Stoyanov is/has been special chair professor at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands, visiting professor at the University College London, UK and adjunct professor at North Carolina State University in USA. He is a co-inventor of more than 80 patents and co-author 130 high-profile peer-review publications. The scientific interest of Prof. Stoyanov includes applied aspects of colloid & interface science and soft-matter, foams and emulsions, formulation and control, interfacial rheology, encapsulation and delivery of active ingredients, applied nanotechnology and development of functional food and pharmaceutical products.
